Learn to design a stack ring for caps

In this project video I'll show you how I've made a stacking ring in Autodesk Fusion 360. Old caps could be very useful to store small items like LEDs, nails, screws, wires, batteries and more. Unfortunately these peanut butter caps didn't stack very well. When stacked they slip off each other.

With this stack ring they caps stack perfectly. I've printed the ring in black PLA on my Wanhao i3 3D printer. After printing I glued the ring on the cap.

Tutorial goals

About Bas on Tech

My name is Bas van Dijk, entrepreneur, software developer and maker. With Bas on Tech I share video tutorials on a wide variety of tech subjects i.e. Arduino, Blender, Fusion 360 and 3D printing.

In 2017 I bought my first 3D printer: the Wanhao i3 v2, a Chinese clone of the Prusa i3. It all started by printing an example hand model provided by the manufacturer followed by more.

Later it was time to design my own ideas. One of the biggest CAD/CAM tool is Autodesk Inventor, a pricey tool, yet powerful tool. When I discovered Fusion 360 as the little brother of Inventor, I started immediately. During the years I became better and better, time to share this knowledge with you!

With Bas on Tech I want to share my knowledge so others can experience this happiness as well. I've chosen to make short, yet powerful YouTube videos with a the same structure and one subject per video. Each video is accompanied by the design files (STL & Fusion 360).
